155 Years of Organ Music at Chew Stoke Methodist Church

Members of Chew Stoke Methodist Church are proud of the fact they havethree organists, who between them have notched up 155 years of serviceand wondered if this was a record. The church and its congregation ofaround 28, has three organists who have been providing music at the churchfor 40,50 and 65 years respectively. Together they have dedicated 155 yearsto the life of the churchThe Church’s main organist is Pat Gallop, who has played here and previously atChew Magna Chapel for a total of 65 years. Elaine Symes who previously playedat Harptree and Blagdon for a total of 40 years. Third organist is Angela Hurfordwho plays for All Age Worship and at the Parish Church for a total of 40 years.The three were presented with certificates for their long service during theirHarvest Service by the Rev Michelle Ireland.
